A Tale of Two Breweries: Gentrification on the East Coast

A new brewery has the power to breathe fresh life into a neighborhood; and when one opens in a tired or forgotten area it oftentimes is closely followed by an influx of new businesses, residents, and a label of “up and coming.” But are these establishments the cause or only an effect of gentrification on the East Coast? Through conversations with brewers and researchers we explore the impact that breweries have on the areas they move into.
