Autumn of 2019 marked the second warmest on record. New England farmers harvest many seasonal products during the fall months including apples, pumpkins and cranberries, all of which are negatively impacted by unusually warm weather patterns. All farmers are subject to decreased crop yields as a result, but those whose businesses include a seasonal activity component such as “pick your own apples” also see benefits from a longer than average summer season, highlighting the dangers of living in the moment while turning a blind eye to the future of our planet.
